HOMEPAGE

Here are some examples of the work I have done in the past couple of years.

Collection Development: Undergraduate Religious Reference
During the summer of 1996, I was asked to weed and make collection development suggestions for the religion section (i.e., the DDC 200s) of the Undergraduate Library's reference collection. This link will show you the report I submitted to the Reference and Head Librarians.

Evaluating Web Pages: Links to Examples
This page contains a number of links that are used to illustrate various concepts involved in evaluating Web pages. The page was used during one of my sessions in the course: INFO 100: Information Technology Literacy Workshop at Illinois Wesleyan University, Spring 1998.
LIS 199--Introduction to Information Technology
This is the class Web page for an introductory course in computers at the Graduate School of Library and Information Science, University of Illinois. During the Fall 1996 semester, I co-taught the class with Dr. Marsha Woodbury.

LIS 415--Information Technology Course Work
During the Spring 1997 semester, I took this class at the Graduate School of Library and Information Science, University of Illinois. My assignments and lab exercises were submitted in the form of the Web pages that you can access if you choose this link.

Magazines for Libraries, 9th edition, edited by Bill Katz and Linda Sternberg Katz.
This publication is a major resource for periodical information. Selected magazines and journals are arranged according to subject. Each entry includes complete publication information as well as an extended description and evaluation of the periodical. I authored the "Religion" section in the ninth edition, published in late 1997 by R. R. Bowker. Dr. Katz has invited me to continue in this capacity, so I will be responsible for at least the next edition as well (scheduled for about 2000).

Rock Music Finding Aid
As an assignment for the "Arts and Humanities Reference" class (Spring 1996), I created a finding aid to assist patrons in locating information about rock music. This is a brief guide to both print and Web sources that can be found in the Undergraduate Library, at the University of Illinois. At this point, this aid could use revising, but since the document reflects an assignment from a particular point in time, I have left it in its original form.

Welcome to the Web Workshop
This is the site I constructed to accompany a workshop taught as a group project with four other library school students. The workshop was designed for novice Web users, and was presented at the UIUC Undergraduate Library on April 8 and 14, 1996. Since it was a group project, I have left the site in its original form. NOTE: This page is for illustration purposes ONLY. Many of the links on the page are no longer valid.
